To make sure that you really get the rest you deserve, here are some ideas to ensure you get the most from your final moments of the day:
  1. Get comfy in bed. Prop yourself up nicely with pillows, wrap the blankets around you and read a book or magazine you have been meaning to get started on for a while.
  1. Keep your sleep regulated. Even if you are having trouble getting to sleep one night, get up at the same time as always in the morning, to keep your body clock in check.
  1. Watch your favourite TV programme or put on a film. Your brain needs time to unwind at the end of the day - so treat yourself to some fun!
  1. Just stop. Get into bed, turn out the lights and simply listen to some of your favourite music, whilst letting the stress of the day ease away.
  1. Keep your bed in order, by changing the sheets regularly and putting the effort into making it properly every day. Also, do not forget that mattresses need to be flipped every six months. When did you last flip yours?
  1. Feeling warm helps you get to sleep, so have a luxurious soak in a warm bath before you get into bed - you can find the time!
