We'd all like to feel we were doing more to help others but so often it's hard enough getting our own chores done during the day. If you're someone who sometimes feels overwhelmed with responsibility and unable to cope it's time to start sharing the load of responsibility to give you time for yourself and also to allow you time to really consider others.
You might think it's quicker to do everything yourself rather than get your family to help but after a few false starts you'll be surprised how quickly family members can get into a routine and lessen your load. It's never too early to start learning to take responsibility and just by getting your young children to lay out their clothes the night before so they can get up and dress themselves in the morning will save you a few minutes each day.
Make it someone else's responsibility to feed any family pets, someone else could take the rubbish out and with the help of Fairy Dish Active Burst you're already on the way to saving yourself time with endless washing up but why not get someone to load and empty the dishwasher for you each day?
Try and divide the week into days when you or your partner cooks. On the days when it's his turn you can nip out to the gym for an hour or even treat yourself to a facial. You'll have those extra hours to look forward to and it will help you feel relaxed and clear your head.
If you can persuade a friend to do the same thing you could pick her up on the way to the gym or ask her if she needs anything brought back from the shops. Perhaps an elderly neighbour needs a prescription picking up from the chemist or a lift to a hospital appointment.
Try and de-junk your wardrobe. It will save you time in the morning staring at a wardrobe full of clothes and not being able to decide what to wear and you can help others by taking them down to the local charity shop. The same could be said for all those unused toys and videos that are probably gathering dust in the house. A clearer home will give you a clearer head.
Or on the nights when you're not in charge of the cooking roster why not offer to babysit for a girlfriend and then she'll be able to do the same for you later in the week to give both the cooks of the house a well-earned night out without breaking the bank!
